dc.description.abstract The research entitled Seroprevalence of Toxoplasmosis gondii infection among pregnant women attending Gitwe hospital was carried out in Ruhango district .Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular protozoan which is globally distributed and is a major optimistic pathogen among person whose immunity is compromised. The infection is acquired mainly through ingestion of food, water or contaminated soil with oocysts that have been shed by cats or through eating undercooked or raw meat that is contaminated by cysts. The objective of the study was intended to determine the seroprevalence of the Toxoplasma gondii infection among the pregnant women attending Gitwe hospital who are aged 21 and above years. en_US
